It's Been a While

How quickly time passes. In 7 years, since I first entered a blog  post in 2003, my life  here on the Riviera Maya Mexico  has been varied and exciting. When I first arrived, I was with a well known Canadian company called Playground, part of the Intrawest Empire. My time here was supposed to be only for  6 months to launch the first phase of the now well known Rosewood at Mayakoba condo hotel and residences. It was a great success and is now a great place to stay, golf on the Greg Norman Championship golf course, and enjoy the beaches, the restaurants, the spas, the scenery, the wildlife, and climate.

If you have been here to this part of the world,  you will understand that after 6 months after our successful real estate launch, when  it was time to go "home",  I was enchanted and didn't want to leave. That was 7 years ago.

Since then I have worked in real estate at a well known agency in Playa del  Carmen, moved to being an independent agent for several years here in Playa,  and then went back to my native land, British Columbia, Canada, for a summer, where I work on an esteemed high end lakefront residential project, with Sotheby's Canada. Not ready to stay in the cold climate of the north, I returned to Playa once again and set up shop with my own agency and great agents, called Living Riviera Maya Real Estate. com.

Great name isn't it? It embodies what we do here for you, dear readers, - we live life in the Riviera Maya and help you to enjoy a beautiful lifestyle through vacation ownership or investing and retiring in Mexico.

It is a life I love, work I am passionate about.

Real Estate in Paya del Carmen, Mexico has seen its ups and downs,  like the rest of the world. The downs, beginning with October, 2008 and following into the spring of 2009, and summer  have  definitely not been as prolonged or as deep as in the United  States. Why,  you ask?

There are many reasons which I  will share with you in my next blog .

Thanks for reading and please keep coming back.
